LULA - Jackie R. Worley, 69, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Banks County on May 19, 1945, he was the son of the late Lee Worley, Sr. and Ola Simmons Worley. Mr. Worley worked in construction for many years and was the owner of Worley & Son Construction Inc. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mr. Worley was a member of Belton Baptist Church in Lula and attended New Haven Worship Center. Mr. Worley was preceded in death by brothers, Morgan Worley, Lee Worley, Jr., Jerry Worley, and Roger Worley.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Charlotte Turner Worley, Lula; daughter and friend, Tammy Winkler (Will Sutton), Flowery Branch; sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Stacia Worley, Gainesville, Allen and Terri Turner, Lula, and Jay and Amy Worley, Canton; grandchildren, Kristin Batchelor, Oakwood, Dustin Winkler, Winder, Tyler Worley and Alex Worley, both of Cartersville, Ashley Turner, Lula, Hannah Turner, Gainesville, and Emma Worley and Reid Worley, both of Canton; great-grandchildren, Skyler Dingler, Andrew and Chloe Batchelor, Connor Winkler, Alyssa Winkler, Bentley Winkler and Luke Martin; sister, Louise Thomas, Lula; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Joe Nix, Goose Creek, S.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Jean Worley, Lula; brother, Gene “Murdock” Worley, Oakwood; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, September 4, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with the Revs. Wayne Hicks, Scotty Poole, Bobby Griffin and James Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Belton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home.
