An 840,000-square foot speculative building is being built in the Jefferson Distribution Industrial Park by IDI Gazeley.
Chairman of the BOC, Tom Crow, said that while this is being called a speculative building, he anticipates a company moving in once the building is completed.
“Well right now, we’re calling this a spec building, but I feel like that’s going to be going away real soon,” said Crow. “I think we’ll be back up here very soon, welcoming in new tenants.”
In 2012, the county had three million square feet available in inventory space. That number is now a little over a half of a million.
