The City of Comer is planning its second-annual “Last Blast for Summer’s Past.”
The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 6, at the recently dedicated Cliff Yarborough Memorial Park in downtown Comer.
At 7 a.m. that day, yard sellers may set up free of charge in designated areas along North Avenue. Craft and food vendors should contact city hall to register for free booth space. Live music is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and there will be inflatables for children.
New this year will be a “Corn Hole” tournament beginning at 10 a.m. with awards for the best team. Registration for the “All-In Car Show” will begin at 11 a.m. ($10 per car) and the DJ music of Cruzin’ To The Oldies will start at noon with awards and cash drawing winners announced at 2:30.
“We hope everyone will come out to enjoy one last blast of the summer in Comer,” said Mayor Jody Blackmon.
