Two people were arrested recently after being stopped for suspicious behavior near Embassy Drive in Winder.
A Barrow County Sheriff’s deputy noticed a red Plymouth Voyager traveling in a secluded part of the subdivision, which is currently under development.
The driver, Anthony Davis, 316 Carter Rd., lot 26, Auburn, said he was headed to a friend’s house and got lost. The passenger, Christina Martin, 257 Booth Rd, Statham, corroborated the driver’s story.
The deputy became suspicious when neither could provide a name nor address for the friend they were intending to visit.
A criminal background check revealed that Martin was wanted in Gwinnett County for probation violation.
During a search of the vehicle incident to Martin's arrest, the deputy found a black knit cap with eye holes. The deputy also discovered two small handguns along with gloves, several hand tools and pry bars.
Davis was subsequently arrested for loitering and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. Martin was also charged with the same offense.
