The U.S. Stock Market began to tumble Monday afternoon after the House of Representatives rejected a bailout bill 228-205.
What do you think of the bailout plan? Add comments here.
This bailout bill was not designed to help any individuals other than those on Wall Street or those who had bought the repackaged bonds (think huge retirement funds and others on Wall Street). We need desperately people elected to office committed to reducing spending by big government and reducing the size of government. We need Americans to start being self sufficient again and stop turning to government to steal from working Americans to help bail them out of what ever situation their own choices have found them in.
I find it interesting that McCain was all for the bailout. He even wanted to postpone the debate so he could be in Washington to vote for it, and yet he voted against it.
I personally applaud the outcome. Why should I and my children and grandchildren pay for people who live above their means. Why should we pay for greedy bankers who would give money to people who couldn't afford it.
I say spend that money on creating jobs. We need to start bringing jobs back to the US.
I find it interesting that someone wants to blame a presidential candidate for this mess instead of blaming the people who are actually responsible. Moron.
The GREEDY CRIMINALS who are "playing" the market and the people who borrowed money for homes that they KNEW they can't afford made this mess, and now WE are going to have to pay for it. Those people should be found and procecuted.
But some typically moronic Obama "activist" wants to use this as an attack on McCain instead of talking about the actual problem.
Idiots who can't focus on the actual problems at hand won't ever be able to do more than make an even bigger mess of it.
You can't fix a problem if you don't REALLY know the cause of it.
Use a brain, if you HAVE one, and THINK before you open your mouth and prove what a low I.Q. you have.
You failed to mention that Obama supported the passage of this Bailout of Wall street bill. I am proud of the Dems and Repubs that said NO to this clear stealing $$$$ from the American who work and invest in the economy. We should vote all of the ones who voted for this BAILOUT out of office on Nov. 4. Newt Gingrich has spoken of a great plan that doesn't involve any of the peoples money. Why are both canidates for President pushing a bill that only serves people who are guilty of huge windfall profits and wants the American people to pay for it. Out in the real everyday world if your business fails why should Americans keep you in business? Don't buy this latest crises from the Bush Administration. Let the FREE market work. Remove bad regulations that require banks to loan money to people who can not afford it because of a Socialize movement that goes against all our Republic of America was founded on.
Your assertion that Obama didn't support this Bailout is wrong. Obama talks about a house on fire and everyone looking for the cause but nobody putting the fire out. McCain was the one going to the fire whereas Obama was running away to campaign hoping someone else would put the fire out(McCain and the Republicans). The real First Responders. Obama is a typical Chicago Politician. No place in America is more racially divided than Chicago. Obama will promise you anything but will deliver nothing but more taxes. He is all polish with no substance. I am so tired of Congress who had their hands all over this Economy by taking the taxpayer dollars and giving some of it to organizations like ACORN. Google this group and check out the facts on who supports this type of group who are involved in Voter Fraud and other left wing activities. Obama is the community organizer not John McCain.
All a vote for Bob Barr will do is take away votes from McCain. Then you end up with a Democrat in the White House. We were lucky the first vote was 'nay' because there were add-ons such as money for Acorn that is under investigation for voter fraud. If you truly want a Libertarian in the White House, vote for McCain now, and then work to really build a concensus for the next presidential election in four years.
There is really no difference between Obama and McCain. They are both for the bailout and for reaching into our pockets for our hard-earned money. Only Bob Barr is standing firm against this bailout plan. Bob Barr is the only choice for President this year. Saying I "should vote for McCain now" is ridiculous. He's been in Washington for decades. He's had long enough to fix the problem.

Surely there is a plan B, or C?
I voted already and voted libertarian every chance with the exception of McCain.
I feel too squeezed , as a middle classer working major overtime,....to pay for others mistakes......
The big guys walk away with major bonuses. Us little people have to work more and more just to have the same lifestyle.
I can't believe our whole world is based on big guys having $ to "lend"?
