A small airplane on a sales demonstration tour in Northeast Georgia had a small mishap Monday when it landed on its belly at Barrow County Airport.
The 30-foot Evolution Turbine was built from a kit manufactured by Lancair International Inc. of Redmond, Ore. At the controls was a company pilot who apparently landed the plane with the landing gear up.
The aircraft skidded, but the pilot was not injured and damage to the plane consisted of “minor composite damage to the rudder and tail cone only,” according to the company’s website.
