JEFFERSON – Benjamin Mark Holdbrooks, 49, formerly of Duluth, died Friday, September 11, 2009. Born in Haleyville, Ala., he was the son of the late Benny and Shirley Holdbrooks. A dispute over who should administer medication to an ailing relative led a Lilburn woman to contact Auburn Police last week. A Statham man has been charged with child molestation after a school program designed to teach children about proper and improper touching led a student to reveal that she had been victimized. A Winder man attempted to explain his poor performance during field sobriety evaluations by claiming he had a “lazy eye” and astigmatism.
