BOC approves budget, millage rate

Final action was taken on the 2009 budget and millage rate at a called meeting of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners last week. Although the county is increasing spending in its general fund by $6.6 million, the millage rate is set to drop slightly to 9.49 mills in incorporated areas and 8.61 mills in unincorporated areas.
