Misleading phone calls on election day disturb voters

Election day phone calls, apparently paid for by an unidentified local candidate, disturbed many Jackson and Banks County voters Tuesday. Home destroyed in Tues. fire

Units from the Jackson County Correctional Institute, North Jackson and Plainview fire departments responded to a house fire Tuesday afternoon on Forest Lake Road. The home and a shop belonging to Michael Flynn were destroyed by the blaze.

Eagles Hit Field For Practice

The East Jackson Eagles hit the field for the first official week of practice beginning last Friday. After a solid freshman season, the Eagles move into region play for their sophomore year. East Jackson will face West Hall on the road in their season opener on Aug. 29.
