Banks County refutes charge that egg plant threatens reservoir

The chairman of the Banks County Board of Commissioners has assured the city of Commerce that an egg production plant near Gillsville will not adversely affect the city reservoir. Homer council approves terms of franchise agreement

Homer City Council members approved the terms of its franchise ordinance at Tuesday’s, July 8, council meeting. The council approved a term of 25 years with a four percent fee. Sewell To Join Lady Hawks Track Program

Commerce track standout Brittany Sewell has signed with Shorter College in Rome to join its women’s track program. Sewell went to state all four years of her high school career, placing each year. The Commerce 12-U Tigers bid in the Dizzy Dean state baseball tournament ended Wednesday night, as Commerce was bested by Jefferson 7-5 in Alpharetta.
