Rising Mill Creek High School senior Shawn Yim placed second at last week’s Burgett H. Mooney Jr. Rome Classic golf tournament held at the Coosa Country Club in Rome, Ga. Walter Fred Pruitt, 74, of Winder, died Monday, June 30, 2008. Born in Greenville County, S.C., he was the son of the late Elmer and Inez Dawson Pruitt.
