A Jefferson man reported he was being harassed by his ex-girlfriend last week after she allegedly posted his Social Security number online, according to a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office incident report. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office made four arrests after responding to a loud music disturbance call Friday night in Nicholson. Man drowns in boating accident

A 51-year-old man died Saturday in a drowning accident in Jackson County. The victim was fishing in a small pond off of Crooked Creek Road when his boat capsized and he fell in, according to EMS director Steve Nichols. He was unable to swim to shore. Woman throws rice in husband’s face during dispute
