A Superior Court Judge has ruled that a suit against City of Pendergrass officials over alleged violations of the Georgia Whistle-Blower Act can go forward. BOE sets calendar

The Jackson County Board of Education officially approved an amended calendar last week for the upcoming school year that in effect has 10 furlough days for teachers. Fire destroys mobile home in Arcade

Local authorities and the State Fire Marshalls Office are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a mobile home displacing three adults and one child. Truck wreck at Kroger intersection Wednesday

An overturned tractor-trailer on the Damon Gause bypass in Jefferson in front of the busy Kroger intersection had the southbound lane of the highway close Wednesday afternoon.
