Former Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney Tim Madison wants to withdraw his guilty plea from 2008. Madison plead guilty in March 2008 to seven counts of theft while serving as district attorney and was sentenced to 11 years — six to be served in custody and the rest on probation. Two Banks County High School students died during the past two days, one following a car wreck and another after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Student who shot himself at BCHS dies

The 16 year old boy who shot himself in a bathroom at Banks County High School early Friday morning has died. According to authorities, the student died early Saturday morning. Not motive has yet been discussed about the event. More details will be posted as they become available.

The all clear was given at 2 p.m. Friday at Banks County High School following a shooting earlier in the day. Students were released at that time. Banks County voters will soon vote on Sunday alcohol sales by the drink

In a called meeting on Wednesday, the Banks County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution to allow the voters in Banks County to decide on Sunday alcohol sales by the drink.
