Standoff with SWAT team leads to suicide

A Winder man fatally shot himself following a lengthy standoff with Barrow County law enforcement and SWAT officials earlier this week. For the fourth year in a row, Statham was in the red last year according to its annual audit. The town had General Fund revenues of $1.062 million and expenses of $1.393 million.
