After catching their breath over spring break, the Jefferson netters are preparing for region action beginning on Tuesday. It’s time to re-write the Madison County High School girls’ golf record book. Led by Cortney Boggs’ school-record round of 39, the Lady Raider golfers shot a program-best 82 Tuesday at Hammer’s Glenn to beat Banks County (101) by 19 strokes. While team superlative honors went to Clarke Central at Saturday’s Gladiator Invitational, no one had a more impressive individual performance than Madison County’s Jamal Cooper. Banks County got started last week with a 12-1 win over Walnut Grove and finished out the week with a doubleheader win over Riverside.
