Kenny Collins, a Madison County High School senior, had one of his best runs for the season finishing in second in the Crate Late Model Class at Hartwell Speedway over the weekend. The Jefferson High School ladies’ volleyball team is off to an acceptable start, at least according to the coach. The Lady Dragons opened against Madison County in a scrimmage on August 12. The 2008 softball season got under way for the Commerce Lady Tigers this past weekend, as the team traveled to Gainesville for the Lanier Point Invitational.
