The GRPA District 7 swim meet brought out a crowd of supporters and a lot of young swimmers. The Sea Dragons traveled to Habersham to compete in the district swim meet Saturday. It was a busy holiday weekend for several local racers, as events took place at tracks all over the southeast. Paul Kelley of Pendergrass took the win in the 100-lap Pro Late Model feature at Lanier National Speedway Friday night, one night after taking third at Peach State Speedway. Commerce track standout Brittany Sewell has signed with Shorter College in Rome to join its women’s track program. Sewell went to state all four years of her high school career, placing each year.
