Charles Hall (9-30-12)

HOSCHTON - Charles Hall, 87, died Sunday, September 30, 2012.

A lifelong resident of Barrow County, he was the son of the late Charlie J. and Pearl Stone Hall. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by sisters, Grace Murphy, Newell Wood, Bonnie Pentecost and Ouida Bentley; and son-in-law, Tony Maddox. He was a member of Bethabra Baptist Church and had attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Mr. Hall was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and served in the European Theatre of operations. He was a retiree of General Motors and was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Burrell Hall, Hoschton; children, Donna (Larry) Glass, Winder, Gary (Gail) Hall, Braselton, Carol Maddox, Hoschton, and Gail (Randolph) Barksdale, Braselton; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Hall, Doraville.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 2, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Everett officiating. Burial will be in Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, October 1, from 6 to 9 p.m.
