The runners from the Banks County High School Cross Country Team ran a meet at Riverside Military Academy last Thursday afternoon. The boys and girls teams finished in first place at the meet with many runners breaking their season best times.
The BCHS top seven boys in the race were Tuan Pham in second place with a time of 18:08, Jose Diaz in third place with a time of 18:22, Andrew Elliott in ninth place with a time of 20:12, Mason Patton in tenth place with a time of 20:20, Harris Day in 12th place with a time of 20:33, Adan Gonzalez in 16th place with a time of 20:53 and Jonathan Dempsey in 21st place with a time of 21:30.
The BCHS top seven girls were Makayla Hewell in first place with a time of 20:24, breaking her personal record, Carli Broome in second place with a time of 23:46, Hannah Brown in third place with a time of 24:35, Marissa Lewis in fifth place with a time of 25:32, Karli Perry in seventh place with a time of 26:43, Cheyenne Campbell in tenth place with a time of 29:27 and Whitney Forrester in 12th place with a time of 30:13.
"Everyone is working extremely hard and we are proud of our senior leadership,” Coach Kelly McDuffie said. “Senior night will be Tuesday Oct. 23, and we want to invite all cross country alumni to attend if possible."
