ATLANTA - Marcelle "Marcy" Elizabeth Walsh Hotaling, 84, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Vistacare Hospice at Crawford-Long, Emory Hospital.
Born on August 22, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late John and Marguerite Walsh. She moved with her parents to Atlanta around 1942. She graduated from Girls High School in Atlanta in 1947 and was employed by Southern Bell Telephone company for four years preceding her marriage. A homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed needlework and gardening. She was a member of Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard L. "Dick" Hotaling, Atlanta; son, Richard Hotaling Jr. and wife Lynn, Cullowhee, N.C.; daughter, Robin Gaylor and husband Mike, Maysville; six grandchildren, Jamie Armour and husband Lee, Maysville, Roni Gaylor, Maysville, Elizabeth Hotaling and husband Brad Cline, Greenville, S.C., Ty Gaylor and wife Danielle, Maysville, Ellen Hotaling, Asheville, N.C., and Scott Hotaling of Lexington, Ky.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 6, at Crest Lawn Cemetery with the Revs. Jim Duffy and Frank Padgett officiating.
