Lillie Ruth Stewart (10-5-12)

OAKWOOD - Lillie Ruth Whitfield Stewart, 85, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012, following an extended illness.

She was the daughter of the late Cora Mae Welchel Whitfield and Joseph Benjamin Whitfield. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Anderson Stewart; a brother, Jesse Ray Whitfield, Sr.; and sister, Ida Belle Whitfield.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Suzie Stewart, James and Amy Stewart, and David and Melissa Stewart; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Dola Whitfield Seay and Inez Whitfield Allen; sister-in-law, Mary Evelyn Whitfield; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Sunday, October 7, at Memorial Park Funeral Home North. The Rev. Paul Evans officiated.
