Today is the voter registration deadline for anyone who wants to vote in the Nov. 6 Presidential and local elections.
Barrow County elections supervisor Monica Franklin said her office would accept voter registration applications today from anyone in line by 5 p.m. The office is on the first floor of the county administration building at 233 E. Broad St. in Winder.
Absentee voting in person begins at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, and continues through Friday, Nov. 2. The early voting hours are from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays from Oct. 15-Oct. 26; from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27; and from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. from Oct. 29-Nov. 2. Paper absentee ballots must be in the local elections office by the time the polls close at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6.
