DANIELSVILLE - Clyde Nelson Fitzpatrick, 96, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Madison County, the son of the late Ernest Obediah and Chester Bonnie White Fitzpatrick. He was a member of Erastus Christian Church. Mr. Fitzpatrick was retired from the University of Georgia as a supervisor in the Environmental Design Department. He was also retired from the Madison County School System as a teacher, principal and basketball coach. Mr. Fitzpatrick was also a former tax commissioner of Madison County. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosa Nell Minish Fitzpatrick.
Survivors include his second wife, Margie Nell Dalton Fitzpatrick, Danielsville; sons, Nelson Fitzpatrick, Braselton, C. Leon Fitzpatrick, Athens, and Jeff Fitzpatrick, Duluth; stepsons, Steve Fleeman, Jefferson, Brian Beard, Ila, and Greg Beard, Danielsville; brother, Horace Fitzpatrick, Cleveland; sisters, Chester Wylder, Stockbridge, and Martha Davis, Mauldin, S.C.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 11, at Erastus Christian Church with Billy Glosson and Steve Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, October 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
