Braselton awards bid to BM&K

The Braselton Town Council awarded a $770,000 construction bid to BM&K Construction for renovation of the Braselton Brothers Department store area.

BM&K was the lowest bidder of nine potential contractors and came in nearly $500,000 cheaper than the second highest bidder for the renovation of the stores.

Architects for the rehabilitation project held an optional pre-bid meeting where potential contractors met inside the Braselton Brothers stores and answered questions. BM&K did not attend that meeting.

Braselton received a letter from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs clearing the construction company on Oct. 2.

Some projects BM&K completed in the last year includes improvements to the Jefferson Memorial Stadium; renovation and enhancements to the pool area of Chateau Elan; and the construction of a concession and restroom building at West Jackson Middle School.
