Autopsy determines Pensacola death a month-old homicide

Two days after human remains were found encased in concrete and buried in the side yard of a Winder residence, police still do not have a positive identification of the victim. However, a spokesman for the Winder Police Department said the autopsy did determine that the death was a homicide that occurred from blunt force trauma to the back of the victim's head and that he died a month ago.
"The question now is determining where the homicide occurred in order to determine which law enforcement agency will handle charges," said Officer Chris Cooper.
He said the Pensacola Police Department is still working with its local medical examiner to identify the body.
Even without a positive ID, the consensus is that the victim is 30-year-old Sean Christopher Dugas, a former reporter for the Pensacola News Journal. He has not been heard from since Aug. 27, when he talked with a female friend by phone. They planned to go to lunch, but when she arrived at his house to pick him up, Dugas wasn’t home, according to Pensacola police Capt. David Alexander.
Twin, 31-year-old brothers and former residents of Pensacola were arrested Monday in Winder and are being held in two area jails on pending charges of concealing a death. The body was unearthed from the side yard of a house their father is renting on Sixth Avenue just west of downtown. Christopher Cormier is being held at the Barrow County Detention Center and William Joseph Cormier III at the Jackson County Jail.
