BETHLEHEM – Ruby L. Walls, 93, died Sunday, November 18, 2012.
She was born in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Arlie and Viv Bennett. She was retired from Carwood Manufacturing Company and was a member of the Bethlehem First Baptist Church. Mrs. Walls was preceded in death by her husband, Marcell Walls.
Survivors include a daughter, Ida Walls, Bethlehem; brother, Marvin (Linda) Bennett, Marble Hill; niece, Martha (Lanier) Faucett, Gainesville; five nephews, Carroll (Judy) Walls, Dawsonville, Gary (Sue) Walls, Lawrenceville, Ricky (Stephanie) Bennett, Ball Ground, Todd (Kim) Bennett, Dawsonville, and Tim (Kendy) Bennett, Dawsonville; several close friends, Alvor Parten and Melinda Thomas, Bethlehem, who were like family to her, and were with her during her long illness from day one to the end; and other close friends, Matt (Sharon) Thomas, Bethlehem, Brandon (Brittany) Thomas, Bethlehem, Sara Griffeth, Winder, Frances Norris, Winder, Charlene Teal, Winder, Henry (Carolyn) Miller, Bethlehem, Mack (Linda) Clack, Winder, and Jennie Clack, Winder.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home Tuesday, November 20, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Peavy officiating. Burial will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, November 19, from 5 to 8 p.m.
