JEFFERSON - Reba Griffith Varnum, 93, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012.
She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Luther C. and Alma Morris Griffith. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Jefferson and retired from the First National Bank of Jefferson as the head teller with 30 plus years of service. Mrs. Varnum was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Varnum; and sisters, Edith Griffith, Sybil Guthrie, Doris Golia and Miriam Parr.
Survivors include her great-niece, Rachel Beatty, Jefferson; nephews, Wayne Parr, Maysville, and Mike Parr, Jefferson; a brother and sister-in-law, Julian and Beatrice Varnum, Jefferson; niece, Diane Mecabe, Wantagh, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 19, at 2 p.m. in the Jackson Memorial Park with the Rev. Eric Shelton officiating. Honored as pallbearers are Kevin Crowe, Wayne Parr, Mike Parr, Rod Beatty, Donald Lord and J.C. Varnum. The visitation will be held on Monday from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
