HULL - George W. Cronic, 86, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012.
A native of Winder, he was the son of the late Clyde and Hester Cronic. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Runette Bramlett; and two brothers, Clyde Cronic, Jr. and Frank Cronic. Mr. Cronic was a graduate of Winder High School and Woodrow Wilson School of Law. He passed the Georgia State Bar in 1946 and worked for 38 years with the Federal Government and continued to practice law for the rest of his life. He was a member and deacon of Hull Baptist Church, where he also served as a Sunday School teacher and song leader.
Survivors include his wife, Gretel Cronic; three sons, Dr. Danny Cronic (Anne); Phil Cronic (Lynn), and Mark Cronic (Jodi); a stepson, Mike Jakubowicz; a brother, John Cronic; sisters, Grace Autry and Joyce Lott; grandchildren, Drew and Amelia Cronic, Nathan and Amy Cronic, Matthew and Lydia Newsom, Cale and Chrissy Cronic, Adam Cronic, Caleb and Kristin Cronic, and Joshua Cronic; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Isaiah, Nathan Jr., Bram, Brooks, Cammie and Kendall.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, at 12:30 p.m. at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Interment will be in Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery in Winder. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Drew Cronic, Nathan Cronic, Cale Cronic, Adam Cronic, Caleb Cronic and Joshua Cronic. The family will receive friends Friday, November 30, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Madison County Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
