The special agent in charge of the Athens office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has accepted an offer to become the Winder Police Department’s second-in-command. Chief Dennis Dorsey introduced Jim Fullington to the Winder City Council at a meeting Monday. Fullington is retiring from the GBI on Dec. 31 and the following day will step into the city’s newly created position of police major. He will oversee much of the police operations and will bring to the department a depth of experience in criminal investigations.
