A burglar who struck a Commerce residence over the past week apparently really enjoys a good breast — or several dozen breasts.
A Crestwood Circle couple returned home to find someone had removed 32 bags of frozen chicken breasts — 192 in all — from the freezer.
The 46-year-old white female said she began cooking and discovered the missing chicken, which her husband, a 42-year-old white male, had purchased from his place of work. Looking around to see what else was missing, the woman found a number of other food items gone.
The police officer who responded to the call observed that whoever stole the food did not bother a flat-screen TV and other electronics typically favored by burglars.
The officer also noted fresh pry marks to the front door and torn weather stripping on the door frame, indicating the method of entry.
