SUGAR HILL - John Daniel Hatcher, 77, born on August 18, 1935, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hatcher; son, Ronnie Hatcher; parents, Eulee and Essie Hatcher; and brothers, Elesik, Charles and Remla Lee Hatcher.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Hatcher and wife, Barbara Hatcher, Jefferson; daughter, Judy Camp, Sugar Hill; son, Jimmy Hatcher and wife, Cheryl, Jefferson; sister, Netta Jean O'Toole, Sneeds, Fla.; brothers, Lafayette Hatcher, Pensacola, Fla., James Hatcher, Knox City, Texas, Wayne Hatcher, Montgomery, Ala., and Raymond Hatcher, Sneeds, Fla.; two grandchildren, Courtney Lancaster and husband Nick, and Chad Hatcher Krish; four step-grandchildren, Sammy Graham, Amie McClure, Tosha Ramey, and Nekeia Ramey; great-grandchildren, Caylee Small, Caleb and Camryn Lancaster; four step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Hatcher was a member of Buford Church of Christ and was born in Pansy, Ala. He retired from Allied Van Lines after 33 years of service. He was also employed with Gwinnett County Transportation as a special needs bus manager for the past 13 years.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, at 3 p.m. at the Buford Church of Christ with remains placed in state at 2 p.m. and with James Hatcher and Jimmy Miller officiating and eulogy by Steve Snider. Interment will follow at Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Buford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 3, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
