A deputy responded to a report of harassing phone calls on J.S. Williamson Court, Nicholson, where a woman said she received a call from unknown persons back in September or October of 2012, telling her she had won the Jamaican lottery.
The woman said the caller wanted her to send money in before she got her prize, but she refused, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office incident report states.
Then, on Dec. 27 and 28, the complainant received phone calls from someone who sounded Jamaican, she said.
They told her to send in her money “like she said she would,” according to the report. Then, they cursed at her and made a comment about her mother, the woman said.
The number they called from was 876-886-5103.
