Officers of the Commerce Police Department investigated a burglary and the theft of items from a yard during the past week.
The burglary was reported by a 61-year-old white male who said he came home to his Hillcrest Street residence to find someone had stolen his son’s laptop computer, wireless mouse and charger from the boy’s bedroom.
He pointed out that a bedroom window was open and that it appeared that someone had tampered with a lock on the door of another room.
Police observed that a flat-screen TV and a video gaming system were not touched.
The victim gave police the name of a suspect he said “appears to use drugs.”
A 34-year-old white male told police that when he came home to his Clayton Street residence he noticed that two gates to the fence around his property were open and a 6 X 10 trailer was missing, along with a floor jack, 100 feet of extension cord and a five-gallon bucket containing car washing supplies and a house key.
A witness reported seeing a red pickup truck inside the fence and a white male near one of the metal buildings.
The victim gave police the name of a possible suspect.
