Jefferson wins Area traditional meet, Sectional meet starts Friday

The Jefferson High School wrestling team completed step one of its goal to continue dominating the sport by winning its 13th consecutive state title.
The Dragons won the Area 4-AA title and advanced wrestlers to the next post-season meet in all but one weight class, the heavyweight slot the team did not enter. The wrestlers next compete at the sectional meet in Dublin Friday and Saturday. The top four individual placers will advance to the state meet. which will be held at the Macon Centreplex Feb. 15-16.
