STOCKBRIDGE - Michael Charles Shumake, 60, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
He was born in Commerce, the son of Alice Taylor Auguletto of Stockbridge and the late Jack Harrison Shumake. He was a plumber and enjoyed attending the Episcopal Church. Mr. Shumake was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Douglas Shumake, and Donnie Steve Shumake; and stepfather, Sonni Merle Auguletto.
Survivors in addition to his mother include a daughter, Marie Shumake Oglesby, Stockbridge; grandchildren, Shelby, Chelsea and Cameron Oglesby; sisters, Sherry Shumake Galvez, Grayson, Candy Shumake Amos, Jerome, Idaho, Donna Ray Auguletto, Arizona; brothers, Tony Lee Shumake, Los Angeles, Calif., Mark Auguletto, Orlando, Fla., Dennis Auguletto, Los Angeles, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Tommy Seay, Randy Davis, Chris Greaver and Mrs. Glenda Bartlett officiating. The burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery with Harold Galvez, Forrest Galvez, Chad Crowe and Justin Shumake honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
