The Jefferson High School girls’ soccer team captured an important 4-2 win over Rabun County Friday during senior night.
Isabella Hisky opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a header off a Stephanie Lamm corner kick. Lamm drove the team in the second half, scoring three goals of her own.
The Lady Dragons’ (6-4, 4-1 in 8-AA) win was key, with the team locking up a state playoff berth.
Whether or not JHS hosts will depend on the team’s last conference game at Union County (9-3-1, 4-1), which is 5 p.m. Friday.
On Monday, JHS battled with Athens Academy during a back-and-forth game coach Todd Parker called “great.”
Though JHS lost 6-5, the team’s performance was solid with Lamm scoring two goals in the first half, with assists by Kayla Brown and Hannah Pasko. Isabella Hisky also scored in that half on another header off a Lamm corner kick. In the second half, Lamm and Hisky each added another goal.
“It was a great game and I am very pleased with the performance of our ladies,” he said. “All of them played a great game.”
The Lady Dragons will close out its season at JCCHS on Tuesday.
