A Commerce man was arrested on kidnapping charges after Jackson County deputies were called to an incident at an Allen Road residence.
On April 28, deputies responded to the residence in reference to a 911 hang up call and a possible domestic situation.
“Upon arrival, officers met with two victims of an apparent assault,” Sheriff Janis Mangum said. “Both victims stated they were attacked by Jeffrey Demetric Dempson, 23, Commerce, while they were asleep in their bed. Dempson forced his way into the home through a window and after assaulting the victims he tried to drag the female victim from the home.”
Dempson was later arrested and is being charged with idnapping, burglary and two counts of battery. Dempson is currently in the Jackson County Jail with no bond.
