A Madison County man was sentenced recently in Superior Court to 10 years probation on a burglary charge.
Brandon Lamar Ledford, 22, 1148 Peach Orchard Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to 10 years probation, 40 hours of community service and was fined $100 for burglary. A charge of theft by taking was merged with the burglary count. Prosecutors chose not to seek a conviction on a charge of criminal trespass.
Other actions filed recently in the office of the clerk of Superior Court of Madison County include:
•Jeffrey Allan Scogin, 47, 719 Scogin Road, was sentenced to five years probation for criminal damage to property in the second degree and one year probation for battery under the Family Violence Act. He was fined a total of $860.
•Rakemin Jaquin Hillsman, 20, 160 Star Drive, Athens, was sentenced to five years probation for indentity theft, 10 years probation for theft by taking and fined a total of $1,350. Four counts of failure to appear were dismissed.
•William Matthew Autry, no age or address available, was sentenced to five years probation for entering auto and one year probation on two counts of forgery in the fourth degree. He was also fined $465.
•Jerry Mell Dean Jr., 39, P.O. Box 414, Colbert, was sentenced to five years probation for two counts of habitual violator, one year probation for DUI alcohol, one year probation for weaving over roadway and operating vehicle without a valid tag and 60 days confinement for open container violation. He was also fined $1,800.
•Richard Earl Helms, 49, 505 Kathwood Drive, Elberton, was sentenced to 10 years probation and fined $1,850 for possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to one year probation for possession of drug-related objects (reduced from possession of tools for the commission of a crime). Two counts of failure to appear were dismissed.
