Teen dies in Hoschton home

Local and state authorities are probing the circumstances that led to the death of a 14-year-old teenager in Hoschton Saturday afternoon.



Rescue, EMS and several local police agencies were called to an address on White Street in Hoschton around 2 p.m. Saturday after a 14-year-old girl was found unresponsive. She was declared dead at the scene and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist in the probe.

Authorities did not release the name of the dead girl pending further information. Reportedly, at least one other youth was in the house around the time of the death and was transported to an area hospital by his own request.

Law enforcement units from Hoschton, Braselton and Jackson County responded to the scene, along with West Jackson Fire Department and EMS personnel and the coroner.
