Jackson foreclosures up 37%

Foreclosure actions for the first eight months of 2009 in Jackson County are up 37 percent over the same period last year.

Some 903 foreclosure actions have been taken through the August sale date in Jackson County, up from 661 in the first eight months of 2008. For all of 2008, Jackson County had 1,051 foreclosure actions taken.

August’s foreclosure actions are 123 for the month, down slightly from July’s 142.
