An estimated 7,000 people gathered in downtown Winder on May 22 to enjoy a free Swingin’ Medallions concert at the newly renovated Jug Tavern Park and amphitheater. The City of Winder and Downtown Development Authority thanked Akins Ford for sponsoring the band, Regions Bank for providing a mobile ATM for food trucks and 107.1 WJBB Radio for sponsoring the band’s dinner and welcoming everyone to the show. Additionally, ESG Operations, Barrow County CERT, Winder’s police, fire and utilities departments, as well as other city staff and volunteers, were recognized for dedicating their time and resources to help ensure the event went smoothly and safely, city leaders said.
