WBHS student involved with saving woman’s life at YMCA

Ethan Coker, a worked-based learning student from Winder-Barrow High School, was involved in successful efforts recently to save the life of a woman who had collapsed from cardiac arrest at the pool area of the Brad Akins YMCA in Winder. For his work-based learning job placement, Coker works as a lifeguard at the YMCA. When the woman had her medical emergency, Coker was one of the first to administer CPR until medical personnel arrived on the scene. Coker learned CPR through his training at the YMCA and he is currently in the JROTC program at WBHS.
