The Town of Braselton has set several public hearings for its proposed 2013 budgets for the town council, downtown development authority and visitors bureau authority.
For the town’s general fund budget, Braselton is proposing a 10 percent increase from $2.9 million this fiscal year to $3.2 million next fiscal year — which starts on July 1. Braselton is also prosing that its 2013 capital fund total $2.5 million.
Braselton doesn’t have a property tax and one isn’t proposed in the 2013 fiscal year budget.
For its water and sewer fund, Braselton proposes a seven percent increase from $5.8 million during the 2012 fiscal year to $6.2 million next fiscal year.
The Braselton Town Council will hold a public hearing on those proposed budgets during its work session on Thursday, June 7, at 4 p.m.
The Braselton Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will hold a public hearing on its proposed budget on Thursday, June 14, at 4 p.m.
The DDA is proposing that its budget jump from $16,030 during the 2012 fiscal year to $65,012 next fiscal year. The authority plans to hire its first employee, a downtown director, during the 2013 fiscal year.
Also, the Braselton Visitors Bureau Authority will hold a public hearing on its proposed 2013 budget on Wednesday, June 6, at 4 p.m.
That budget is slated to drop from $337,500 in this fiscal year to $270,000 next fiscal year.
All of the meetings will be held in the courtroom of the Braselton Police and Municipal Court Building, located at 5040 Ga. Hwy. 53, Braselton.
