Anyone interested in Ham Radio is invited to attend the Barrow Amateur Radio Club for its annual Field Day operations June 28 and June 29 at the Winder YMCA.

If you were licensed in the past, would like to upgrade your current license class or simply would like to join the thousands who have already made this a hoot, then this event is for you.

Amateur radio, or “ham” radio, has been a hobby for many years for some of members and generations for some, becoming a family pastime as there are no age limits to licensing. Also, Boy Scouts and other civic organizations are encouraging ham radio as an alternative means of communication.

If you love talking to people in other parts of the country, the world, and even the International Space Station, you are interested in building your own radio or antenna, then come by.

For more information see the group's Facebook page at Barrow Amateur Radio Club or visit the group's website: and contact any of our club officers from that page.
