PHOTO: ‘Faith over Fear’ fundraiser supports health care, frontline workers

The "Faith over Fear" fundraiser has been an initiative on part of Logo Surfing Promotional Items and Apparel to show support for local health care and frontline workers. Haruko Watkins of Logo Surfing wanted to do something to show her appreciation for front line and healthcare workers. Therefore, she designed and made an affordable T-shirt so everyone could participate. She rallied business leaders for sponsorships, and local businesses stepped forward and the community started ordering the T-shirts. To date they have raised over $5,000. The proceeds were distributed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Foundation ($4,000) and the Fireman’s Foundation. "The businesses and community of Barrow and the surrounding areas have gone out of their way in a show of support to their local heroes,” Watkins said. "We are so proud to be part of the initiative that will be used by these organizations to train and support our local frontline workers."
