PHOTO: NGMC Barrow receives Emergency Cardiac Center designation

Northeast Georgia Health System recently became the first health system in the state with hospitals designated as Emergency Cardiac Care Centers (ECCC). NGMC Gainesville received Level 1, NGMC Braselton Level 2 and NGMC Barrow and NGMC Lumpkin both received Level 3 designation. This means, per certification from the Department of Public Health (DPH), NGMC Barrow now has emergency cardiac care process and equipment in place to stabilize cardiac patients until they are transported to Gainesville, Braselton or any other level 1 or 2 hospitals. Pictured are Chad Hatfield, NGMC Barrow president (right) with Jason Grady, Northeast Georgia Regional STEMI coordinator, presenting Dwayne Joy, manager of NGMC Barrow ED, the Level 3 Emergency Cardiac Center designation certificate.
