The Statham City Council recently tabled the exploration of three additional well sites, postponing Statham’s journey to water independency.

At its May 17 voting session, the council voted to table the surveying and drilling at three potential sites, as well as the capping of the current Hillman-Rainwater site, until the council’s August 4 work session.

The exploration project was also tabled at the council's April 19 voting session.

According to council members, the tabling is to “learn more information” about the costs associated with exploration.
