A 37-year-old Auburn man was arrested April 30 on allegations of multiple sexual assaults of a child. The victim is an 8-year-old girl. “It has been going on over a period of time,” said Lt. Lee Lapsky, spokesman for the Auburn Police Department.
Because the investigation is under way, no other facts about the case were available this week.
Adam Michael Hughes of Wynfield Lane in Auburn was charged with three counts of rape, two counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of aggravated child molestation, five counts of sexual battery, 11 counts of child molestation and 11 counts of cruelty to children in the first degree.
On April 13, a Statham man was sentenced to three life terms plus 20 years for sex crimes committed over a period of time against a Statham girl.
