AHS SkillsUSA honors military

Between February and March 4, Apalachee High School SkillsUSA members (from left) Trinesha Brown, Savannah Wallace and Feyikemi Adeyemi-Bajo collected photographs for a SkillsUSA display honoring the military. They requested photographs of current students, Apalachee alumni, teachers and faculty, and family members for all of those aforementioned. The goal was to collect at least 100 photographs to represent patriotism by honoring the military and veterans. “The outpouring of photographs was phenomenal as family members were proud to be recognized,” leaders said. “It was touching to see the generations of military families; grandparents, parents and alumni.” Former SkillsUSA members Sam Calabrase, Nathan Crocker, Chrys Watt and Jordan Manatos were a few of the alumni honored. The display board will be on display at Apalachee on E Hall, near the atrium, through Sept. 11. If you would like to submit photographs, you can email them to AHS SkillsUSA advisor Amanda Pugh at amanda.pugh@barrow.k12.ga.us. Include the name, military branch and ranking.
